I know you're expecting to learn a little bit more about me and I'll get to that in a second, but I'd like to take a second and talk about you for a minute. I want you to know you're in the right place.
I know for a fact you don't want to add on more medications. That's what lead you here in the first place.
You want to know what you can do to take control of your health and not have it be the other way around.
Heck, just thinking about your numbers gets you worried and stressed and feeling out of control.
You're left to figure this stuff out on your own. The doctor said it needed to be done, but failed to mention even how to get started.
They leave you to
- Learn about your new health condition
- Buy a monitor
- Learn how to use the monitor
- Spend time worrying if you’re doing it right
- Stressed because you don’t know the consequences of your high readings or when you should call for help
- Start taking a new medication
- ANDDD figure out how to clean up your diet and exercise more
- All at the same time
Don't they know that multi-tasking and stress are what got you here in the first place?
Maybe you've tried some natural remedies like garlic, cinnamon, or even awful beet juice. Yuck. Or you've given up your the things you love like fried foods, salt, or carbs. And now you are left wondering, "Is everything going to taste like cardboard forever?"
Hey there! I'm Jordann, it's so nice to meet you.
I’m a pharmacist with a different approach. Instead of trying more medications let’s work on lifestyle changes that can prevent or decrease those medications.
It’s not your fault, you were raised to put other people first and that’s exactly what you have done. Caring for your family and working to make ends meet you’ve been successful with everything else in your life except your health. It keeps getting pushed aside and now is the time your doctor is letting you know it can’t be pushed aside anymore.
Now if you're looking at my picture there and thinking what does this fresh faced young lady know about high blood pressure and diabetes. "You're young. You're fit. And you don't know the first thing about what it's like to be me."
Then let me stop you right there and share a little bit more about me. I am a board certified pharmacist and health coach. Both high blood pressure and blood sugar have really hit my family hard. And I have watched and felt the pain it has caused and the damage it can do.
See I know something you don't know. I know how it feels to be the family member watching you go through this struggle. And I have vowed to make sure that I will do my best to make sure you don't have to go through this alone.
I believe that high blood pressure and high blood sugars can be controlled naturally, along with your medications of course, with a few simple shifts of your lifestyle.
As a matter of fact I know it can!
And I'm not talking about making radical changes.
I help you:
- ADD things into your lifestyle, and phase out the things that no longer help you over time
- Lower your blood pressure and blood sugar
- Implement simple and easy healthy habits that are highly effective
- Stick to the changes that will help you live not only longer but healthier and happier
I see patients everyday who get nothing more than a diagnosis and a little piece of paper and then are sent along their way to figure the rest out on their own.
You have all this new responsibility of measuring your numbers and taking new medications. How are you supposed to figure out how to clean up your diet and start exercising on your own while worrying about your numbers?
It frustrates me and it's why I became a health coach.
Because I know that treatment for high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes starts with lifestyle changes. And I know you doctor probably told you that you need to work on your diet and exercise and I know you agreed. But it’s hard. It’s really hard to change. It’s much easier to do what you’ve always done... put other people first and your health on the back burner.
I challenge you to do something differently. I challenge you to not just accept your health but to define it and change the path that you’re headed on. You don’t have to become Richard Simmons or Suzanne Somers. You just have to start somewhere. Let’s make that somewhere here and now.
After 9 years in school obtaining my Doctor of Pharmacy degree, I went a step further and became a certified Metabolic Syndrome Health Coach.
Meaning, I know the path of least resistance to get your blood pressure and blood sugar controlled and lowered so that you can live a long and healthy life and watch your kids graduate and get married.
Now, when I’m not out trying to reverse preventable diseases or get people off medications, I love to mountain bike and go on adventures with my family. We camp, hike, and stand on top of mountains together. I also love spending time at home with my fur baby and my hubby. We love getting together over a good meal with our family and friends. Who doesn't think that makes for just about the perfect family gathering?
But enough about me. I know that you feel alone and worried, but if I haven’t already made myself clear, you are not alone. You do not have to worry as long as I am by your side helping you get your health back on track.
